Contribuiți la feedbackThis restaurant is a very homely, family place. Almost gives you the experience when you go to relatives or friends for a beautiful Sunday dinner. That means there is a set menu that will be a surprise. Every day they cook something new. Usually there are four dishes served in rustic bowls. On the table you help yourself from these bowls. Just like at home when your family celebrates something. Although I don't know that the menu is a bit risky, in the case of Hammerli Palace I would like to take this risk every day. The food was absolutely fabulous. Everything was cooked to perfection. From beginning to end. Fresh and local ingredients, very good cooking qualities. Homey dishes, but the cook must have learned somewhere how to cook, as the food did not make your average 'mum 's cook' style, which we get at home, but proved real cooking qualities that his own would be in much higher graded restaurants. The 'gazpacho'-like tomato soup was perfect. Cool in the heat, refreshing, delicious. The salad was also fresh. The beef was well cooked to absolute perfection. Soft, delicate, not overcooked. Perfect medium to keep all delicious juices, but only to praise the raw feeling of meat. The desert, where many restaurants get rid of the game, was as high quality and well thought out. Yogurt and berry sorrow. The best I had. I would go so far to say that this was my best culinary experience this year, and at the beginning of this year I was also in a restaurant with a Michelin star. The location is not perfect. You have to drive here. Environments are not the most beautiful on this side of the country 'macro location '. But the 'microlage' when you are in the restaurant and the garden is ok. As soon as the dusk falls, the neighboring not so beautiful buildings disappear and only the beautiful garden is quiet with the small stream next to it. The service is also family like. Political and informative. If I had to say a critique, that would be the amount of water boy we received during our stay. In this hot weather, we needed some more water. Otherwise, if you accept the rules of this restaurant mystery set menu, you can for a treat. Perfect for family parties. The food is absolutely excellent. Thank you to the boss. Booking is a necessity.
We were very excited to visit this place after we have noticed in recent months the essential reviews, mostly very positive with the occasional, discursive voice. The standard dinner here is a 4-course menu, no choices, family style, for a fee of CHF59 per head. They offer various seasonal themes, during our visit the kitchen of Piedmonte was their choice, which happens to be one of our Italian favorites. We had a rather unusual experience in that, as their main room was full, we sat on a long table in the side room, which was mainly set up for private parties. Our party of 4 was the only group in this room that initially seemed somewhat lonely, but when the candles were illuminated, it became quite festive and intimate and it was a welcome calm contrast to the main room that we noticed was very busy and a bit on the loud side. The food presentation began with a large amuse boulevard from Charcuterie, olives and bread, followed by a good mixed salad including pieces of oranges, then a grandiose risotto with truffle oil. The main course was an absolutely wonderful fillet di manzo rare beef fillet with potatoes, al dente carrots and leek, expertly executed, the beef felt like melting on the tongue. An excellent closure was her parfait semifreddo, light and delectable. We were also with their Piedmontese wines, the selection of a white Roero Arneis for starters, then a bottle of their red Barbera d'Alba Flin and were very satisfied with both selections. The wine prices begin in a quite reasonable area. To close, we had good coffees with free, very humid Tuscan chocolate cake cubes. Overall: Great food, great service, very warm pleasant operators, a bit funky, but good ambience. Not cheap, but really much for Swiss standards, considering the food quality and quantity (can ask for seconds and we have! how it was too good). We will definitely be back at a visit to our family in Lenzburg and look forward to sitting outside in the warmer months near the brook.
