Shinto Ramen - Leipzig

It was our first and will not be the last visit in mifune. we knew about the restaurant after asking some locals on a Facebook group and were not disappointed at all. the service is friendly and the chefs are Japanese, that is already a sign of quality for me. the price is in fact higher than most Japanese restaurants here, but there is no possibility to compare them with mifune quality. Therefore we were really surprised that this amazing restaurant had only 4 complete tables on a Friday night. Vegans are often with the idea to visit a Japanese restaurant, but please do not fear them at mifune because they have amazing selection on vegans. even the tofu itself tastes heavenly, so simple and yet full of authentic natural soybean flavor. the udon with Tofu-Haut was so delicious that we could not leave a single **** of broth. we just wanted the bowl to be in a circular shape to blow lighter. the sushi, oh, my dear, the sushi we have ordered were: thunfish in soy sauce nigiri, unagi or eel nigiri, flying fishroe, pickelte radishes and a mixed roll. the highlight was absolutely the unagi nigiri, which is just a little bit tiny bit fishy, but sooo fat creamy and sweet in its sweet soy sauce. it was terrible. I haven't found a great piece of unagi yet! the plucked radishes sushi was a bit salty for me, but my nabenbein loved it. all raw materials are super fresh and not fishy at all, and of course we cannot finish our meal without dessert. or 2. a Japanese honey cake with Matcha tea and a part of ice mochi. eismochi was a whole victor, and the waitress was so cautious that she told us that we are waiting for it to froze a little before they bang it to the full. the pancake is interesting and I love the sweet red buoy filling. the pancake is overwhelmed withhoney taste that I don't have a big fan of. mifune also offers Performace dinner, which is really interesting, after what I saw at our neighbours. full of flame and beautiful smell. Finally we would like to make mifune more known to people, because we cannot afford to support them every week! and of course we want them to stay strong and retain their amazing quality so that we can visit them from time to time! visit them! you will not regret it!

I can't tell much about the restaurant as I didn't get the opportunity to try it, however, the three starts rating is for a reason. About 10 days ago I wanted to take a friend on his birthday to this restaurant after learning from the internet that they are one of the few places in Leipzig that offered teppanyaki. So we traveled all the way to Leipzig from Halle, just to find out the restaurant is closed for the whole week. On google it said clearly that the restaurant was open until 11pm. If the restaurant owner can utilize platforms like google maps to advertise the interior and their dishes with photographs, the least they could do was to be a bit responsible and update their opening hours accordingly on google, to avoid inconvenience for the customers.

The food at Mifune was very nice. I went with a friend right after Christmas and the restaurant was almost empty. That said: the service was a disappointment. Too slow and rather bad communication skills. We both felt this could be done much better in such a small restaurant. I would normally deduct 2 points for it but the food was really good.

High quality sushi, fish is just right. Professional service, very unobtrusive yet attentive. Teppan yaki tables to the rear. Relaxed atmosphere, good music. Salads vary. Soy sauce lacks a bit of intensity. In all, a very good experience. Ironically, Jp. clients tend to overdrive conversation volume, feeling quite at home. But that's better than any Kneipe. Oh, if anyone wants vegetables only, no need to go to a sushi teppan yaki restaurant. It's not meant to be. Yaki, btw, means meat. lol. Even green health driven itsu in London offers chicken.
