Schmidt’s Bbq - Leesburg

Delicious food and drinks! The sauces are tremendous. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff is a lovely old house in downtown Leesburg. Awesome food in a relaxed place.

The service was prompt and friendly, the barbecue amazing and the draft beer selection pretty darn good. It was a little chilly in the outdoor tent, but that was ok. I look forward to returning soon?maybe when it?s a bit warmer.

We just stopped at Schmidt?s for dinner. Loved the outdoor space with live music. Great setting. We were told to sit where we wanted and that a server would come over. We chose a bar space at the back of the patio, facing the music. Really great seat for a couple listening to the music.j. As no wait staff came to our seat after awhile, one of us went to the bar to grab a drink. No problem. We waited pretty patiently listening to the music. Still no wait staff came. We selected our food from the QR code menu as no menus were brought. (Some other diners received menus. Some people who came after us were attended to before us). After more than 30 minutes a server finally came. It was at least anotherhalf hour before the food came. There were no utensils provided when the hot food arrived. When we asked for them, our server never returned and we had to go find them at the bar. The food was hot, good, and met with expectation. Themusician did not take a break the whole 2 hours we were there. There were at least 3 wait staff visible to us outside. We understand restaurants are stressed finding the help they need. However, while wait staff was clearly visible, whydidn?t we at least receive a check in or some communication within the first 30 minutes? It would seem that management needs to do a better job training and assigning tables. The couple next to us seemed to be in the same situation. Tosummarize, food and entertainment was great, but service needs to be improved.

We came for dinner and drinks on a Friday. The place was absolutely packed. The servers were all working hard to get everyone served quickly. Ben at the bar especially did an excellent job. The brisket was incredibly tender and delicious. It's hard to get brisket that tender that still holds its shape. It had all the heartiness of a steak and all the tender goodness of pork belly. Since the brisket was so rich, the acidity of the pickles was a perfect balance. Only downsidewas the water cooler emptied quickly because of the number of guests and it took a long time before anyone refilled it. Other than that, it was a practically perfect experience. Would definitely come again

We waited an hour to be taken up a tiny staircase to what was essentially a bedroom with 2 tables. Nothing in there, just two tables. No decor. To top it off the A/C was broken and the fan in the room didn?t work. It was 85° in there. Everyone was sweaty. We asked to turn the fan on and were told it didn?t work. It?s on a ?master system?. We asked to open a window and they don?t open. I even tried after the waitress walked out. I think they?re nailed shut. At this pointI?m wondering how all these people are gonna get down that rickety curved narrow staircase in an emergency since we obviously wouldn?t be able to open the windows and call for help. One family had carried a stroller up. Definitely not safe.Anything to pack people in and I guess for the aesthetic they were going for. Which i honestly don?t know what it was. Broke down? Dusty? Old? After all that the people at the other table said the food was not even worth it. I won?t everknow because we walked out behind them and I wouldn?t go back.
