When we arrived around 6:45 pm on a Wednesday, we were the only two people. Make note this tap house is inside a hotel, and it was happy hour. Server said she was new and had never seen a groupon before. Cook was new, and no manager on duty in either the restaurant or hotel. Somehow she expected us at this point to print it out. When hotel clerk was asked for the manager on duty, she said he had left. One must wonder how a busy airport hotel has only one clerk on and two kitchen staff who don't know anything, this early in the evening.
The food at the restaurant was average - not great, but not terrible. There are a lot of typos on the menu though (which is a pet peeve - but not something that should deter you from eating here). If staying at the Wingate, I would likely eat here again.
I came to this place due to my stay at the hotel it is based in. Firstly, I was happy to have a hotel that has somewhere to eat within it, allot of them these days seem to be missing this.I have to say, the first thing to catch my eye was the stunning girl working behind the bar, absolutely gorgeous.So...the menu isn't too bad, I ended up with the Butter Chicken, I'm a sucker for Butter Chicken and I always have to order it when its available as I hope to one day find the equivalent to what I used to have back in New Zealand.I wasn't disappointed, don't get me wrong, its not what you would purchase at a local Indian Restaurant, but it satisfied my taste buds.I also got the soup of the day, very nice.Overall, very nice place, friendly staff, good food...no complaints.
My wife and I decided to try the restaurant in the lobby of the Wingate where we were staying. Mostly because we head a live guitar soloist playing assets were checking in. The menu looked interesting and tripadvisor score was pretty good but only 17 reviews or so. We were impressed with the food, and the service, as well as Oliver the guitarist. He sounded a lot like John Mayer. The restaurant manager Kelly welcomed us and was very helpful. Overall a great experience - completely the opposite of what you might expect for a lobby restaurant in an airport motel.... Highly recommend.
Had the Cajun chicken with Caesar salad and it was excellent. Reasonably priced and a more than adequate serving. Acoustic guitar with occasional vocal. He's very good, relaxing atmosphere. Nice background when you're eating alone. (well actually anytime)
