Food fresh and amazing taste. Presentation beautiful. If in Overland Park, KS make this a stop for great dining experience.
Great place to stop in and have some sushi! Friend brought me here for my birthday. We had our own private room all to ourselves. Took your shoes off before stepping into the private room. Door slides open and closed. You open it when you would like a server to come to the room. Service was good, and food was delicious. Definitely one of the better sushi places to stop and grab a bite at. I got a disaronno sour, and my friend got a sake bomb. We ordered the haru maki, spicy crab salad, and party tray e (picture perfect) . Would for sure stop by again when in the neighborhood!
They didn?t serve wasabi (not even the dyed-horseradish-in-a-tube imitation) with their Sushi. I took this as a sign of their confidence in their fresh fish, and they really tasted great. Each piece of fish was as thick as a slab, comparing to other establishments I?ve been to. They had Toro (fatty tuna) and Japanese Uni (sea urchin) as specials, rare in this area. The price was indeed steep, especially for the specials, but for Sushi is never meant to be cheap for this quantity and quality, especially considering KC is nowhere near any oceans. The waiter Tat was very kind and attentive, explaining the food in details. It really helped me making decisions. The only thing not up to par was the Yakitori. Using chicken breast instead of thigh was an odd choice, and the skewers were cooked on a large grill instead of the traditional narrow ones, so both ends of the skewers ended up as charcoal. It did not affect the taste very much, but the holding end was very brittle. Also, the bell peppers were not a good choice ? use leeks instead.
Dined here for lunch. Nice ambiance, excellent service by server Tat, and fresh sushi. Tat highlighted some great options which are hard to find at many sushi restaurants due to supply chain issues uni (sea urchin) and toro (fatty tuna). I had to try both since I have difficulty finding these options (and fresh). I also had the sake don (salmon sashimi over a bed of rice and a little dried seaweed). All very fresh, generous portions, and well prepared. The salad was also fresh and my water was topped off regularly. Will be back.
There's a reason this place has been around awhile. The quality and quantity of sushi is superb! I've been here many times and the raw sushi is always consistently fresh. Service is always good and even non sushi items are wonderful too. The shrimp tempura was one of the best my boyfriend ever had and the steak was well prepared too.
