I ordered Mullet DINNER (2 piece) and there was only 1 piece left. The waitress offered me to move to the 1 piece for my order or she could add catfish nuggets so I will have enough. I accepted the latter. The mullet came undercooked. The skin under the breading was still silver, like no fire had hit it. When the hostess came by, I hesitated to say anything bc I prefer mullet, but I hit a cold spot on the fish and let the hostess know about the undercook. Upon checking out of the restaurant, the hostess/ cashier charged me for 3 plates, told me I had a mullet dinner, and 2 catfish meals, 1 dinner, 1 small order. She offered to discount the mullet dinner and the total was $43, so I inquired and was told about 2nd catfish. She then told me I should have told her about the issue before I ate the food. Fair enough, if I am not charged for 3 plates when I know I ordered and received just 2 plates. Problem was I could not get her to understand that she OFFERED to reduce the price of the mullet plate not my Idea. All this could have been settled had she just ask the waitress about my order, rather than assume I wanted free food. I simply prefer not to be treated as if I am dishonest, $17.99 and tax is not worth that; NOR pay for a plate I did not receive. The compensation done by the waitress was also offered, bc the restaurant didn 't have enough fish to fill the order. That also was not my Idea.I was simply questioning the extra plate. Common sense: 3 plates have 5 or 6 sides total. My table had 2 plates with 4 sides. An extra plate for bones was on my table, and I told her that. She misread the ticket. In the end, my final total was $38. So, I still paid for food I did not order or receive. The cost of the mullet wasn 't the issue, it was the 3rd plate. Also, I know math, it the math ain 't mathing, I cannot be told otherwise. I ended up paying about what I would have owed without the kind offer to comp the mullet meal, which she volunteered to comp. $5 was deducted from the original total she announced. Whether it was for the mullet or for the 2nd catfish, I paid the $38 because it was the cost of 2 dinners and a drink, exactly what I ordered and received NOTHING comped.
I got the catfish fingers, fried shrimp, hush puppies, French fries, and coleslaw with an ice tea! The food was outstanding. Nothing was greasy. Everything was fresh and very flavorful! My mom has a dairy allergy and she was able to order the same minus the hush puppies. It was awesome they were able to accommodate her needs. Our waitress was amazing...she was very attentive (it was pretty busy) and kept our drinks full! We all left so full and completely satisfied! Highly recommend...I will definitely be going back!
The food is not worth the money you pay for it in my opinion. We recently went there and were extremely disappointed with the portion size as well as the price we paid. Didn't taste all that good.
We will definitely be back! I absolutely loved this cute family owned restaurant. I got the boiled shrimp oh my lord with fried okra delicious amazing! My fiancé got the catfish fillets with fried okra it was cooked to perfection. Even ordered a take out order!
