The information in the hotel recommended 'La Cascade' at this address. When we entered, we were told that it changed 2 yrs ago.It claims to have international cuisine, but the decor is mainly Moroccan. At 14:00 hours we were the only customers. The menu was not extensive, but the prices were reasonable.
We tried the restaurant for a Sunday lunch and it was very good.We were four, each of us ordered a different plate from the menu and we were all happy about the food. After the lunch, the owner proposed us to enjoy a tea in th terrace.I'd recommend the place!
The food was delicious! We enjoyed Moroccan soup, gazpacho, risotto with mushrooms and chicken and fish. Our French is limited but our host happily did charades to help describe each dish. This is a friendly spot! By the end of the evening we were meeting lots of people and writing English versions of the next days menus.Regarding the critiques: This isn't a place to go if you are in a hurry. Personally, I loved the portion sizes. There was a nice amount of food for a good price. It wasn't huge portions and I felt great after dinner. Just come! Great food and fun.
Sunday is a hard day to find anywhere open in France, let alone a restaurant. We stumbled upon it by chance as we were hungry around 3pm. Le Melchior was the only place we could find selling meals at that time. I can fully agree with many on here who say what a gem this place is!! You MUST try the Couscous with all the trimmings (vegetables, spicy sausage, spiced sultanas). Fabulous. The host spoke no English but was extremely attentive & polite at all times. Admittedly a bit on the pricey side but food this good is a rare find anywhere. If your motorhoming nearby - it's a must-see.
