Contribuiți la feedbackSmall, quirky, made very good with traditional French dishes (best snails we had on our trip, for example). Feels like the perfect neighborhood restaurant, although it has to reserve for special occasions (or order the set menu that appears very cheap). Friendly staff and the trip and the price worth
I do not agree with an earlier English review that this restaurant is extremely expensive. We paid € 125 for 2x3-course meals with a glass of wine and a brandy to finish each and 2 coffees. It's not expensive for Paris. Beautiful old fashion building, popular with locals and very friendly staff who were tolerant of my limited French. The food was delicious typical French Fayre. While I would not necessarily say that it is worth going out your way if you are in the area, then it is certainly worth a visit and I would not have any problems in the future.
Today I discovered another face of French cuisine: one I don't like. No, I don't enjoy my time in Le Pouilly, but the guilt isn't the whole restaurant. I'm usually vegetarian, with some exceptions, and when I saw the menu, I almost skipped a beat! Head of calf, liver everywhere, pig feet, snails... A good 90% of the menu is meat, and even those who are not, contain meat of any kind... in the end, I have for a hering fillet and a tartare. None of them were as expected. The herring was.. Is it really one thing to use them with all the fish bones? They are tiny and cling to their flesh much. I had to give up. The potatoes on the side were good. The tartare was again a fish that was not really explained everywhere in English... my French IS rough. In the end, I have no idea what kind of fish it was, but it wasn't one I enjoyed. I have to say, tho, that it felt fresh. I had to resort to cheese to feel happy. It's hard to check a place you don't like because of the taste. All the others seemed enthusiastic... but I definitely didn't cost dinner. I must realize the ingredients were of high quality and the waiters, although poor in English, were friendly and professional The price is, however, ineffective. 49 € for 2 entrees and cheese, without wine? Unless you blow me away, that's too much FAR. A little advice: the desserts are gargantuan, so save space if you have a sweet tooth
