The cuisine was exceptional both times healthy, beautiful, and wondrously tasty with many distinct and excellent flavors in each dish. It was by far the best food we were able to find in Le Grau du Roi. Excellent background music and decor. The design of the restaurant (with mostly interior seating) made it easy for us to have a smoke free dinner (we really detest the smell and health hazards of smoke which alas is far more common in France than most other places we travel). It has a small menu just 3 entrees, 3 main dishes, and a handful of deserts but they were superbly executed. Highly recommended!!
This was a good place to visit on a rainy afternoon because the dishes really cheered us up. It was a blind date too, so we did not quite know what to expect. But in our opinion starters as well as main dishes were really above standard, with a definite personal touch of the chef. Hurray for that. Yet, there were some minor setbacks too, unfortunately. First of all, in stead of menu charts the waitress put one huge slate on our table without any comment or explanation whatsoever; this we found poor service, especially for customers from other countries than la Douce France. Secondly, with all due respect to the waitress who had to serve all tables on her own we had to wait quite a while. Other guests who arrived later, had to wait even longer. All in all, we ate well and we had a good time. La Fabrique could perhaps reach even higher rankings if one would pay just a little more attention to interaction with their customers.
We were strolling around Grau du Roi at Xmas 2017 and we ate at La Fabrique (despite its modest and touristy appearance) as it was one of the only places serving food in the mid afternoon. And boy are we glad we did! The food was truly excellent, whether the steak, the mussels, the seafood or the dessert, and very reasonably priced as well. The service was really friendly. And though it was mid winter, we were able to sit outside and watch as stunning sunset over the Med. What a fab place I would definitely go back.
We nearly walked passed this restaurant as it is located on the corner of a row non descript facade of restaurants, and it looks like a temporary pop up cafe from the outside. The location to view the sunset was perfect, overlooking the beach and sea, but inside the place is comfortable with very few frills. Suggest booking in advance for a window seat facing the beach if possible. The menus included a Fixed Price 'Formula ' for Main course and dessert on an evening at 24 Euros each on a night . This was not advertised outside , so double check and ask first to make sure it is available. The main course of Sea Bream or Tuna Steak were well cooked with a accompanyment of French and Asian sauces, vegetables, beetroot smoothy for main course, followed by a superb selection of 5 delicious small but generous desserts and a coffee for 24 Euros. The Gourmand tasting of 5 desserts with a coffee were superb value and taste. This was great food and generous portions ! The service was good and at a nice pace. This was the best food in Grau du Roi we tasted, so don 't let the frontage put you off as it nearly did us otherwise you will miss a treat !
This small and modest restaurant is ran by two beautiful and very gentle sisters. My wife and me tried different dishes and all of them were excellent. And I can assure you that we are spoiled people when it comes to gastronomy. A real hidden pearl. The restaurant as well as the two lovely ladies. Thank you for a perfect diner!
