Le Chinaillon - Le Grand-Bornand

Our first night in Chinaillon this year. There were 4 of us for dinner. We had a starter and a main course each but could not manage it all. The portions are generous. There was a large choice to suit all tastes. Our choices were assorted jambon cru, scallops, fois gras, followed by steak, tartiflette etc. We had one bottle of a Savoie wine after some beers to start €174

We booked the second service for lunch and went as a group a bit larger than 10. The service was good and on time, the food was nice and so was the selection of desserts. The had also a very nice menu of the day. Would go here again.

What a great restaurant they have a special smaller area for a large amount of people which does not interfere with smaller tables in the main eating area. In reference to the person who complained about the bad service ,food and large groups. I think they are people who are never pleased and like to moan just for the sake of it . Ignore their review, the staff were super friendly and nothing was to much for them. The food was excellent and was brought out all at the same time considering the amount of people they were looking after. The staff are a credit to the restaurant as they are so amiable . We have been returning there year after year , either for a coffee just before the lifts open or a cheeky lunch and the atmosphere is always great. Thank you for your hospitality.

In reply to this bad review we were here I believe on the same night with a party of 32 people and the service couldn’t have been better from the kind waiters and waitresses. The food was outstanding considering the large amount of people and couldn’t have been more patient with the younger ones of the group. Apologies for the kids having a bit of fun for five minutes between meals and is very much a restaurant for everyone rather than simply just tourists.

From the preparation of the meal at the time of our departure around 1h in the morning, everything went very well: nicolas and alex are listening, the reception and the on-site service are impeccable, the delicious and hearty meal, all in a super nice atmosphere. the fondue with the white tomme we loved, the quality of the meats and their presentation for the pierrade nothing to say, the desserts pie with the meringue lemon and chocolate cakes really very good. We were a good group(32 people) of good eaters, everyone was happy. Besides, we were in a small decor show. woody, cute: we could even put the music of our choice thanks to their sound diffusion system. a priori, it didn't bother other customers, no one came to see us to ask us to drop. Anyway, it was great.
