slow ride roadhouse - Lawrence

This location is not closed although it's only open Thursday to Sunday. We were visiting from out of town and staying nearby. We stopped by for a drink or two and some dinner. Food was great. Service was awesome and drinks were cold. The bonus was open mic night with some really good performers.

Great Burger! Crinkle Fries. Hubby had the Pork tenderloin and said it was the best one he's ever had. The place wasn't packed, of course it was a Monday night. There were 2 pool tables. We played 4 games at 75 cents per game. Our waitress, Kaitlyn was great!

Let me start with saying we have never posted a negative review on this site before today! Our visit started with the bartender/server telling us they only have tacos on Sunday. When I asked about the regular menu listed on YELP, she said we haven't had that menu since someone died, sometime ago. That should have been a clue and we should have left, but we were hungry and didn't want to drive somewhere else. Besides how can they mess up tacos. We were told they they had beef, chicken, and pork, and that they soft shell tortillas, corn tortillas, and hard shell. We were also told the beef had potatoes in it. I ordered one of each meat on soft shell. The server came back and told me the pork was only available in the corn tortillas. My wife ordered two chicken soft tacos and I ordered one beef and two chicken soft tacos . When they brought our order out they put one chicken taco in one basket that they placed in front of my wife. They gave me two chicken soft tacos and The beef soft tacos. The server explained you have to buy three chicken, and the beef came in an order of two. We were then told the chicken also only came in the corn tortillas, but they made an exception for us. Now to the quality of the food. The beef potato should have been called potato beef tacos, the ratio was probably 70 percent potato to thirty percent beef. They were awful! It was like eating a mashed potato taco, I couldn't eat them. The chicken tacos were just as bad. If I could have given this place zero stars I would have. The only saving grace was the beer was cold. We paid the bill and left without eating. We ended up at Johnny's Tavern done the street which was awesome!

Mediocre at best. Good service, hot food, but just okay in terms of food. We got the queso and it tasted like melted American cheese, but was okay when you added salsa. Got the chicken strips... Pretty standard. My friend got fried shrimp and she said it was good and my other friend got grilled chicken salad and it came with iceberg lettuce but she said the chicken was good.

Yes its a biker bar!!! this was a cool laid back place with excellent beer and food at a very reasonable price. the best chips salsa I've had. luckily i was here on a Friday, happy hour specials were great! $2 rum Coke $3 pints of boulevard beer all day and free pool. this is what a REAL BAR should be! cheap beers, full kitchen and pool tables.
