Steinbock - Lauterbrunnen

As we’d eaten in the one open restaurant in Wengen, we opted to take the train down to Lauterbrunnen for dinner. We chose the Steinbock, a blessedly short walk from the station since a freezing rain had started. The Steinbock had a homey feel to it so we went with the homiest items on the menu — a shared cheese fondue to start (excellent), a bratwurst with rosti for me (bratwurst — meh, rosti very good), and battered and fried perch for my wife (fish and sides all quite good). Stuffed though we were, we couldn’t resist the crepes with sour cherries. Dessert was a wow. With beer the meal came to CHF 92.

Been two years since we went back: the place lost none of its charm. Again a lovely lunch under the trees, a warm welcome by the super friendly staff. Consistently good!!

Friendly service, fine Sandwitsch and top-notch coffee

Wir hatten nur wwnug Zeit für eine kurze Mittagspause. Schneller Service, preiswertes, gutes, Menü. Es, gat sogar für einen Kaffee gereicht. Gerne wieder.
