Grütli - Lausanne

We came to this restaurant because of his call for good fondue. the server strongly encouraged us to order the fondue for two people who have an salat, a portion dried meat, a fondue tank with brot and kartoffels and two glasses with...winning for 45 chf per. what we received was disappointing for the price. the salat was perhaps half a cup of arugula/rocket with no other sweet (last salad we had in a land of delicious salads). The four to five thin slices of dried meat were tasteless. the wine, although good, was two small half glasses. the fondue itself was good with lots of broth and kartoffels, but when the bill came for 90 chf, the worth was for what we received was minimal compared to other meal times that we had in Switzerland last week. we were very disappointed.

Had dinner here with a friend. She had veal in cream and mushroom sauce and I had beef stroganoff. Both dishes were tasty, but nothing to write home about.

Hidden amongst the cobbled backstreets not far from the old town in Lausanne is this small restaurant delivering delicious food. On a hot Friday night the decking out front was busy so we ate at a table inside near a big open widow. Very friendly staff serving good food at reasonable prices.

À chaque visite, c'est un plaisir, la fondue bourguignonne est très bien servie avec des sauces qui change de l'ordinaire (pas trop épaisse).La viande est de très bonne qualité et tendre. Ils ont un grand choix de vins et sont toujours là pour conseiller. Les serveurs et le patron sont super.Si vous voulez la bourgui, il faut si possible le préciser lors de la réservation pour la mise en place, mais c'est possible en terrasse et en intérieur.La salade au poulet est également excellente. ;)

We arrived at Cafe du Grutli after a long travel day from Geneva to Chateau de Chillon and back to Lausanne again. We wanted some fondu and didn't want to travel far from our hotel. We stumbled upon this corner restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was quite helpful and provided as much details as the could about the items on the menu. They asked us what we liked and created a very affordable fondu dinner for us, complete with appetizer, wine, and dessert. When we all walked out, we were all full and had some great stories of our staff and the owner! Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lausanne.
