Casa Playa - Las Vegas

We arrived one minute past our reservation time after navigating busy streets and crossing a large casino, feeling exhausted. To our dismay, they informed us that our reservation had been canceled and we would need to wait an hour or more for a table.

Overpriced for the quality of food. But the service was exceptional and it’s a beautiful restaurant.

I would have given Case Playa a 5-star rating if the food matched the exceptional service. My server, George, was outstanding—very attentive and helpful. Now, regarding the food: I ordered the Gem lettuce salad, Dorado wrapped in banana leaf, and green rice. The salad arrived with large wedges drizzled in dressing and topped with Cotija cheese. Tongs were included to help hold the wedges while cutting, but I had a hard time with the knife provided. George kindly took the salad back and brought me a new one with the lettuce chopped. As for the Dorado, since it was my first time trying it, I can't blame the restaurant for not enjoying the fish. Unfortunately, the green rice was also a letdown; whatever was used to color it green didn’t enhance the flavor at all. The chips and salsa were enjoyable, with three varieties ranging from mild to hot. The highlights of the meal were definitely the House margarita and the Tres Leches dessert.

I had a wonderful dinner. The cucumber margarita was fantastic, and the branzino was absolutely delicious!
