As for the cocktail, The Vampire's Kiss, it truly took me to another level of experience. We also savored our desserts, which included the choco flan—an excellent serving of flan atop a rich and moist chocolate cake—and the cherry and mixed berry tart. I appreciate the ambiance of the restaurant, with its high ceilings and charming adobe walls.
Came to try the jalapeño watermelon margarita, which they couldn't make. our waiter didn't seem prepared for us showing up ~20 or so after opening). we had to get our own menus and silverware. wasn't too sure about what came in their foods or the portions. maybe he was new? or maybe it was just because, perhaps, that this place is located inside of a hotel that the influx of people is slow/random. the food was pretty good! what i expected of the burger i got though happy to see a fried egg burger somewhere besides red robin) BUT--not at the price it was offered. i believe it was only one of two meals that were $10. two stars for poor hosting/prices. the fries were at least the bomb.com . not mad about picking it for a random stop on a quick trip to nm. maybe someone else will get better service than us! and that margarita.. damn it. haha.
I reserved a room at the Ramada for my husband primarily because it offered convenient parking for a semi truck and was near a restaurant. Upon checking in, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a restaurant on-site. He raved that it was the best Philly cheesesteak he's ever had! He also mentioned that Willy, the cook, and Gustavo, the bartender, were fantastic. If he ever needs to return to Las Cruces, he will definitely dine here again! The fact that he asked me to write a review is noteworthy, as he usually doesn’t pay much attention to things like that.
My boyfriend and I decided to stay in Las Cruces for the night to break up a long drive. We looked on yelp and saw that this restaurant got really good reviews. When we came, there was no one here, so we were a little hesitant to stay. Fortunately, we sat down and our server, Gustavo (I think that was his name), was extremely friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious and exactly what we wanted after a long day of driving.
The food is excellent—I've never been disappointed. I highly recommend the pulled pork sliders and the apple pie à la mode. These are a must-try if you're in the area. The atmosphere is classy and fabulous!
