The interior is clean and tidy, featuring around 8-10 tables and booths, providing ample space for dining in. The service has consistently been quick and efficient. Los Amigos embodies several key elements that I associate with a good taqueria: 1. A clientele that doesn’t resemble me, which typically indicates authentic flavors. 2. A soccer game playing on the TV. 3. Lively Mexican pop and Mariachi music filling the air. 4. Cold Tecate beer available (a significant plus since many local taquerias don’t allow beer consumption in the dining area, even if it’s sold in the grocery section)! The menu is extensive and available in Spanish, but I usually opted for the tacos, which were delicious, satisfying, and well-seasoned. The prices are quite reasonable, making it a great value. Familiarity with Mexican dishes is helpful, but if you’re unsure of the Spanish names, the staff is more than willing to assist. So far, La Cabana del Tio is the best taqueria I’ve discovered in Clearwater, but Los Amigos Taqueria certainly stands out above average. Here’s how I rate LAT on a 5-point scale for Pinellas taquerias: Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Food: 4 Value: 4 Don’t forget to check out the well-stocked grocery store if you enjoy preparing your own Mexican dishes at home!
It felt like I was in Mexico without leaving Largo! While the dining area could use a little tidying up, don’t let that discourage you. The food is fresh, authentic, and primarily made from scratch. The $1.25 tacos are an incredible deal! The staff was very friendly; it felt like a family-run establishment. Our waitress was welcoming and spoke perfect English. I can’t wait to bring my friends to this hidden gem!
We had been searching for a good Mexican restaurant for far too long. After passing by LATYT countless times, I now regret not trying it sooner. If you're looking for a place with free endless chips and salsa, this isn't it. However, if you're in the mood for authentic, homemade Mexican cuisine, you should definitely visit ASAP. Don’t be put off by the modest decor; it’s worth it. I had the Chicken Fajitas, and they were delicious! The freshly pounded chicken breast was accompanied by perfectly cooked peppers and onions, along with rice and refried beans. The portion size was generous, and the handmade corn tortillas were a nice touch. Be sure to ask for the green salsa and enjoy!
This place is fantastic! The service is excellent, and the food truly showcases authentic Mexican cuisine.
Delicious! Finally, a true taco experience! My husband and I are from Tucson, AZ, and we definitely know our Mexican food. We had almost given up on finding anything worthwhile to eat in this state, but this place surprised us with some fantastic tacos! I tried both the chicken and steak tacos, while my husband enjoyed three steak and chorizo tacos. They were all served perfectly—with onions and cilantro and lime on the side, all wrapped in fresh corn tortillas. The homemade chips were great, and the green salsa was flavorful too! Plus, it was just $12 for the tacos, chips, and a soda. I've always believed that seeing Mexicans in a Mexican restaurant is a good sign, and we definitely found that here—no Taco Bell nonsense! We'll definitely be back!
