I couldn’t believe they were out of my favorite dish—the pulled pork dinner! On top of that, the bakery was closed, so I missed out on my bread and butter. To make matters worse, there was a same-sex couple arguing nearby. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
The burger and boneless wings were fantastic. However, the country-fried sirloin was disappointing because it was obviously pre-frozen and didn't taste fresh. On the bright side, the beer was served ice cold, but overall, this is the only place to enjoy these dishes.
There is no Spanish menu at this restaurant, which is surprising given that it's located on the border with Mexico where many people may not speak or understand English. The food is delicious; we ordered a New York strip and a ribeye. I recommend asking for your steak to be cooked one level less than your desired doneness. I ordered my ribeye medium, but it came out medium-well, and my wife ordered her New York strip medium-well, but it was served well done. So, if you go, it's best to request one level less on the cooking scale.
The steaks are excellent. I've had both the New York Strip and Ribeye, and they were both delicious. Everything I tried tasted fantastic. The beer selection is decent, though not outstanding. The draft beer is consistently served well. The service was good too. I ordered the brownie for dessert, and it was so sweet and delicious that you'll feel a bit guilty afterwards. I recommend getting extra ice cream to go with it. The portion size is larger than it appears in the pictures—definitely too much for one person.
