Contribuiți la feedbackOrdered the lamb frame listed in the menu as 10oz. I understand it's the weight with bones. But then the list is a French lamb chopper and not a rack. Hardly four bones and not even 2 ounces of meat. And the so-called 16 ounces King Crab. Beverages were good and it is always nice to have brought warm sourdough bread to your table. Only too many negatives for a restaurant that is described as ?fine gastronomy?. It's not close. Safe bet is to order Steak and keep it easy with ordering medium or good.
Wow, is everything I can say. Our server was okay. Lack of knowledge of presentation and quality, but attentive. But the kitchen. Sad, very sad. Lamb. 10oz. 6 ounces. I said that was the precooked weight. Lol. The meat was the size of half a dollar. Royal crab. 16oz. Served two shrunk legs cut the middle and not even cut at the joints. So bad. Avoid, if possible.
The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! The service was also impeccable. 10/10 would try HIGHLY EMPFEHL if you have time. We had a party of 7 and the waiter made sure everyone was satisfied. Very good service. Do not forget to make your reservations!
The ambience is beautiful, the restaurant is small, only 12 tables. Very intimate feeling. I can't believe I've come to Grand Falls for 8 years and I've eaten here for the first time tonight. The beverage card is expansive and the drinks we tried (Royal Flush and Ruthie's Grand Old Fasion) were excellent! We have the French Onion and Lobster Bisque soups as appetizers and they were both amazing and fill. The portions are massive, so you are not afraid of the prices on the menu. My husband ordered the Surf Turf and he swore it! It looked delicious. I ordered the short rib. I don't enjoy the short rib as much as my husband enjoyed his food. It was dry and reminded me of a pot roast that I can make at home for much less money. We also have the family side of Brocollini. There was something under, but still delicious. Our server was the perfect amount of attention, we had what we needed when we needed it, and he left us alone.
We used to love dining here. I think we are finally done trying. Our server was new. Not a problem, we have both been in the service industry and completely understand. When my other half ordered the steak special, she said she didn't know what it was, but assured us she would figure it out. What he received was a steak (cooked correctly, at least) on a plate. Juice splattered on the plate, none of the seasoning/rub nor accompianents for the special. When questioned, she said, OH, the May special. I guess I didn't realize that! I ordered a lobster tail. ? It arrived with no melted butter and it was cold to the touch. She refilled our water and then took 20 minutes to remember the melted butter. I explained that it was cold. 15 minutes later I got my meal back. The sides were no longer warm, my partner had finished his steak and couldn't even get a second drink. There was no offer of dessert and our check was dropped off. We intended to use some of our food credit and pay the rest. She took our cards, used comp from our cards and brought them back with someone else's receipt in our folder. We gave up. Our server's parting words were...I hope you have a better night. Apparently the fantastic manager that was there is gone and the restaurant part has been sold. We can't justify the prices for the food when the quality and service is so low. We used to rave about Ruthie's to everyone and would take people there for special occasions. Now we will have to ensure that we retract the recommendations. I'm so sad it has turned out this way.
