Restaurant Galland - Lapalisse

We spent a night at Galland and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room: it's good to have space! The atmosphere of the place is calming, we both felt it and appreciated it. Little personal extra: I am vegetarian and the chef very kindly agreed to prepare a veggie meal for me. He even took care to tell me that the dessert I had chosen contained gelatin (therefore of animal origin) and offered me another: I was very sensitive to these attentions and the respect for my “singularity”. La table du Galland doit être réputée dans les alentours de Lapalisse car il y avait bien plus de convives à table le soir où nous y avons dîné que le lendemain au petit déjeuner. La carte est simple, les plats proposés bien travaillés.

Restaurant faisant partie de l'hôtel du même nom. Un peu à l'écart du trafic et donc calme. La terrasse est agréable. Les tables sont simples. La cuisine est bonne. En revanche les accompagnements des plats ( légumes) sont chiches et peu copieux. Eviter l'assiette de frites ( 3 frites qui se battent en duel pour 3€ 50) qui est un attrape touriste. Le service, un peu amateur, est sympathique même si il veut se donner des grands airs.
