This by far was the worst dining experience that we’ve had here in Lansing Michigan. First off we were almost forced to wait an hour even though we had a reservation, then after we were seated it still took about an hour to receive our food. We both ordered the “Cajun Omelette” and those turned out to be just hard fried eggs filled with burnt andouille sausage topped with salsa! The side of grits were hard and cold, and the shrimp and grits that my husband ordered for $20.00 were not good at all. When I tell you that every piece of sausage in my omelette was burnt, it was a disgrace and the waitress removed that order from the bill. We still ended up paying over $50.00 for the meal. I also ordered coffee that came in a full pot and the taste was quite bitter for coffee. My husband offered me his shrimp and grits that I ended up throwing in the trash. The overall experience was horrible and from here on out I will listen to the reviews! I wanted it to be great but it wasn’t… Sorry not Sorry
Parking can be hard to get right out front but there’s a public parking lot less than a block away that is free after 6 pm! There is a very nice patio area to sit in as well. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. She checked back often and our cups were filled constantly! Service was good. I ordered a side of red beans and rice and it was awful. The rice is seasoned well but the rice wasn’t cooked it was hard! I mean literally not cooked. The waitress said that’s how they make it there it could break your teeth it’s so hard. The cornbread is equally as awful. It’s so dry, hard and it was nearly served cold. I would not recommend it. The French fries are very well season and tasty. The brioche bun was very good on my burger. The classic burger was nothing special but tasted okay. The Beignets were okay! Those are not the real ones but they will do. Overall I would not come back. Not worth spending any money on anything here.
First time here. Came in as they opened and sat at the bar. Staff was very accommodating and chatted with us since noone else was here. Ordered shrimp and grits and the hot chicken sandwich. Both were good. Will come back.
Our serve was awesome. The food was phenomenal, definitely turned a not so great day into the best day of the week. Shrimp and grits were good but needed more cheese, the smoked wings were delish but I'd love a hint of sazon, fish and chips was the best I've had in lansing so far... pimento Mac and cheese was beyond words. Just order the entree size, TRUST ME. The beignets are delectable and add the rotating sauce... you won't be sorry. Thr cornbread was good but needs to be a bit more moist... that sounds bad. Maybe a honey glaze?Local gem and I need to return soon. Usually the shrimp etouffee wins the meal but today it was all about the beignets!
We went here for Sunday brunch on a sunny day and decided to sit outside. For drinks we started with Mimosas and Cajun lemonade. The mimosas were the best I've ever had and was refreshing. For food, we ordered a Breakfast bowl and a Trust me quiche with a Side of potato casserole and cheddar grits. I specially liked the casserole and the bowl. The service was friendly but a tad bit slow. But we weren't complaining about that since we very looking for a lazy brunch anyways. Overall, I would definitely come back and try their Lunch menu and their glorious mimosas.
