Somerville Thai - Langwarrin

The food was delicious, the pad thai was one of the best I have ever had outside of Thailand. I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others.

The food at Sommy Thai is fantastic and the service is very friendly. After hearing multiple recommendations, we finally decided to give it a try. We ordered prawn spring rolls, satay chicken, coconut rice, and seafood pad Thai. My favorite dish was the satay chicken and we definitely plan on returning again.

This was our first visit to this restaurant since the lockdowns were lifted. We were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere, with no background music, making it feel like a glorified food court. The service was also lacking, despite having plenty of staff on hand. The satay for our entree took a while to arrive but was decent. However, the chicken and cashew stir fry was bland, with a watery sauce and tasteless flavors. The veggies were the only highlight, being nice and crisp. We were almost done with our mains when we realized the roti bread had still not been served. Despite trying to get a waitress's attention, she claimed to be busy and never returned to our table. Later on, she gave us a terrible stare while clearing a nearby table. Overall, there are much better restaurants with superior service in the area, and we don't plan on returning. It seemed like they were more focused on handling takeaway orders than attending to dine-in customers.

RUBBISH!!! Either the rating for this place is based on poor competition or someone has no taste buds! Is the chef Thai or someone that thinks they can cook?? 1. Pad Thai ISN’T meant to be orange like bolognese sauce!! 2. Massaman beef in most places is chuck style steak that falls apart. But here it was chewing rubber like cheap stir fry steak. I have had better food from a food court at 4pm in the afternoon. I hope these guy read this and try and defend themselves cause feel free to read my rating and other reviews. I almost never write anything bad!

I am so disappointed in tonight’s experience which has lead me to never unfortunately go back. From someone that use to be very happy. I am strongly disappointed. We were served up spring rolls that had off chicken. The chicken was actually OFF! followed by a main that was tough meat and absolutely no flavour. The worst part was we notified staff and management and they actually just didn’t care. Hopefully we don’t get sick and luckily my 2 year old didn’t eat any. Their staff there had no customer service what’s so ever. :
