Le Bistrot du Splendid - Langoiran

Bistro du Splendid was perfect for four of us to grab a quick lunch. The menu changes daily but the food was really good. The host told us he only makes 15 portions a day so it’s all fresh! Tomato Tartare and Chicken Supreme, both excellent. And only €23 for a couple including drinks. Highly recommended!

So un-French that it stands out as different and quirky and fun. Set in an old theatre and they have kept the theme alive with a mish-mash of old radios, TVs, record players etc., and a jumble of table and chairs, but it all gels into weird, interesting and cute, and it actually seems to work. There is a pleasant courtyard for al fresco dining. Food was simple and pleasant ... Gratton (like a terrine) and gazpacho for entree and stuffed peppers and caesar salad for mains, with strawberries or cheese for dessert, and incredible value as together with a litre of wine plus coffee was just €33 for the 2 of us. Service (and welcome) was friendly and efficient and they deserve the support of our local community. Well worth a visit if you are in the area visiting.

Located in the picturesque village of Langoiron Gironde and surrounded by the famous Bordeaux, le bistrot is your place for a cool evening and family type food. Great show on a regular basis (please check days and schedule as the place is not open every day). Le Bistrot could easily me moved to Austin Texas... as it has all the keep it weird atmosphere.
