We sat in the square on large wooden tables on a beautiful summer evening. After a short while, a German couple sat with us, a good opportunity to meet other visitors and made for a pleasant evening. The food was good traditional food, large quantities and delicious. The service was efficient and the prices were reasonable. A pleasant meal.
When my husband and I arrived, the restaurant was not very full except for a very large group of men who had a great time. When we decided what our waitress ordered, a meal passed for someone in the big group. It looked fascinating, so we asked her what it was. She said it was a pig bone, and there was only one left serving, so my husband ordered it. He enjoyed it even though it was much more fat than the kind of pork we eat at home. I had Schinitzel, which was great. It was a pleasant meal.
Stayed in Landsberg and came to the Gasthof Mohren because it was located in the altstadt near our hotel. Ordered our beer and tried to decipher the German menu. When the waiter returned he asked if we wanted an English menu. From that point on...we had a warm and friendly experience. Great beer, great food, and a super experience. The staff was eager to talk a variety of subjects with us, all with a smile and, at the end, shots of schnapps. Wish we could go back tomorrow.
Had lunch here with our tour group of American football players and families. You could order either the whole knuckle or in slices. It came with tasty dumplings. The service was good considering there were over 100 of us filling the restaurant. Most of the...players ordered the full knuckle. I had the smaller portion, but it was pretty filling. Later in the afternoon, I enjoyed a beer and a schnapps.
