The Shovel Inn - Lancaster

We went to carnforth from our hotel in tewitfield, miles away, and were soaked in a rain shower. we decided to go to the first pub in which we came and found the shovel. after one that we don't see many strangers sharing in these when we came, we were made very welcome in the did. the place is tiny, and there was a handful of natives who are the barely high. the price of drinks was very reasonable in the did, and there was a good choice of good beer. the renter from the Geordieland area realized that we were of teesside from our accents, and the clientelle opened us and were very chatting, friendly and helpful with rat on the place, transport etc. one of the reviews I have read said that it smells as if a wet dog lived there while it had a little bit of a geruch we enjoyed our couple drinks with good company so we will return for a few on the following day. combined, an old-fashioned real pub with inviting atmosphere

We came here after our usual spot was closed and were pleasantly surprised. While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, this place checks all the boxes for a good meal! We enjoyed homemade cake and rhubarb crumble, both of which were delicious. The variety of gins to choose from, as well as the friendly staff, added to our experience. The pool table and selection of CDs made the evening fun and entertaining.

Dog friendly, friendly, with good beer and excellent scotch iron. toilets might be worth a visit with a bit tlc, but a visit.

Stunned over this pub. great eating and beautiful friendly atmosphere. they also made our dog welcome what was an additional bonus.

Popped in as was moored up in Carnforth for the night and wanted to watch live football. We got a nice welcome in a friendly boozer. There is no food here and dogs are allowed inside but neither is an issue with me. The locals...and bar staff were all friendly, e got to see the footie and the beer was blooming lovely. A good boozer!!
