Macpherson's Restaurant

The place looked like a movie set. The decoration was antique like, customers looked mostly regulars, people were calling each other by their names. Out of two meals (burguer & fries) and pasta with shrimp and rose sauce, only the pasta was very delicious, the burguer was average. But the whole experience of a asmall town restaurant was pretty good.

Stopped in this morning on our way through and pleasantly surprised. Nice variety of breakfast items. Had traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast but the best part was the mashed home fries. Yum! Friendly service - we were treated like regulars. There is also a convenience/gift store/gas station attached. Fresh, clean bathrooms were a plus.

There's a big sign on the roof, saying "Restaurant", but the atmosphere is better indicated by the gas pumps out front. Think a diner on a rural highway, with a convenience store and gas station connected, and you've got the right image. Food's not bad, although unexciting. Service is OK, but locals/regulars get preferential treatment (which means that if you're just passing through, you don't).

Dinner on a Tuesday around 6pm. The front room was basically full but lots of room left in the back room. Quick and friendly service. Pickerel, fried chicken, soups and salads were all great. Two thumbs up at this busy family restaurant.

Frequently stop here for lunch or dinner and never disappointed. Food is great and friendly efficient staff.
