The Cavendish Arms - Lambeth

This pub is in our neighbourhood. Popped in for a pizza. Old school pub vibe. Good pizza. Comedians were prepping for open mic night which was really fun to experience. If in the area worth popping in for a pizza and drink.

Had a bad experience at the Cavendish Arms on two accounts. Played a gig at the venue a few weeks ago and found that the venue’s PA/desk is in disrepair so various microphones were cutting out throughout the night, plus the aircon has been broken for ages and the room is a sauna on a moderately hot day, so the gig put on as a result was naff and everyone who came to watch us didn’t have a good night.Secondly, I accidentally left my prescription sunglasses at the venue and I called up the next day to ask if they could be posted back to me (I live 50 miles from the pub). Dom who works there got back to me and said they would sort it out if I sent them a parcel with prepaid tracked postage for them to return my sunglasses in, which is completely fair. Over the course of 5 weeks, nothing happened despite frequent calls/texts and eventually I get an answer that they’ve posted them yet I haven’t received them, and they aren’t able to give me a tracking number. Tbh I doubt they were posted as they can’t give me a tracking number so it all seems like Dom has spent a few weeks doing F/A and lying about it.So first tip don’t go to a gig at the pub as their equipment makes it crap and secondly don’t trust the staff to handle any lost property reliably, just totally incompetent idiots.

My partner and I went here for the comedy on Monday. We loved the venue it was really quirky and different. The drinks were cheap and great pizza served with fries. Amazing night out, excellent value for money and we really enjoyed the comedy show.

The live music concert at this venue was great. The Venue could do with some tlc, its a little run down and could do with some tidying up to be honest especially their facilities.

This place is not in a great neighborhood and it is far from glamourous. But it does have a good open mic comedy night and I would recommend it for that.
