Contribuiți la feedbackMy friends and I discovered this place while I was for a budget-friendly yet safe place to eat in downtown Lima! They had a set menu price from PEN 9.50 up. We tried the set menu for PEN 11.50 and were very satisfied with what we got. Not able to understand a lot of Spanish, we got friendly help from staff and could enjoy the food. The soup was expensive, it could be a meal in itself! The main dish was just the right part and the dessert was easy enough that we could finish it. You even had the free drink Chicha Morada or the warm ginger drink! We had our lunch for the 3 consecutive days we were in Lima! Thanks to the staff for the exemplary service and food!! Flor and company
We went to the restaurant because it was recommended in a lonely planet. The food was okay, but too expensive. When we paid the bill, we got wrong money. We recognized it about 30min later and went back to the restaurant. They were very unfriendly and, of course, prevented from giving us false money. Don't go there, it's a scam!
This restaurant is listed in Lonely Planet Peru, but the criticism there simply calls the food “traditional” without superlatives and focuses primarily on the decor. Should be a warning sign. The decor is indeed interesting (many wooden plates), but the food is meh. The main court I ordered was obviously not in stock, but we were not informed until my wife came out. I ordered the Arroz Cubano (rice, salad, fried plantain) to get something. It was okay, but not exceptional. Lonely Planet recommends this place and it could be perfectly good; I think it is more for locals but and I was not sufficiently impressed by him to recommend it for tourists. Nothing is wrong when the locals have their place...
