The Phantasy Concert Club - Lakewood

In the 1980s, I attended Fugazi's concert, where they played 13 songs in front of perhaps 50 people. I grew up just around the corner and witnessed many shows there when I was a kid. The atmosphere was fantastic. The venue itself is great, and I even learned about punk rock culture there.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The sound quality is excellent. However, the numerous stairs leading up to the stage can be challenging for someone with knee issues, like my wife. Additionally, if you want to smoke, you have to descend all those stairs and then climb back up. Aside from that, this venue is truly wonderful. It might be beneficial to have some stools available for those with ADA-related concerns.

Imagination is now under new ownership, and as a photographer, I can definitely see the changes! It remains a cozy concert venue, but the lighting has been significantly enhanced, which makes a huge difference! The new owners are heading in a fantastic direction, and I look forward to seeing more improvements in the future!

Honestly, what is not a highlight of imagination? They have pirate ships, photo-shoo backdrops, clean bathrooms with beautiful sinks, tight safety and fabulous bartenders. Oh, yeah, the bands are pretty stellar too.

Venue is great. An iconic institution of the west side. Words cannot describe my affinity for this place. Find a band your interested in and check it out.
