Neptune Fish Market - Lake Worth

The owner and fishmonger are very knowledgeable. They bring a fresh catch in every day so you know you’re getting the good stuff. We bought a sushi grade tuna steak and came home and made tuna tartare, it was excellent. We can’t wait to go back and purchase more seafood from them. When you walk in, all you smell is seawater, which makes me believe that everything is fresh.

The fish monger is very knowledgeable. As soon as you walk in the shop, it smells like the sea, how fresh seafood should smell. They get their fish in fresh daily right off the boat. We purchased the Ahi tuna steak (the one in the display case looked beautiful, but he went in the back and got a fresh one for us) came home and made tuna tartare. This was fresher than what you can get in a restaurant, so glad we found this place, especially since it is hard to find fresh tuna right now, and the price was incredible. Buy what is in season and you can’t go wrong. Next trip, I plan to get the little neck clams. You won’t be sorry, and the fact that it is so close to the coast is a plus.

If you want fresh seafood, this is the place to go!! Every time I get food at this market, our meals are amazing! We even compared the shrimp to grocery store shrimp once, and the difference in quality and taste was obvious. The shrimp at Neptune was delicious, as is everything else. The new owners are also invested in making this market look as fresh as its food. The customer service is spot on. This is where you want to shop for seafood!

I was disappointed to find only four fish available, and all of them had cloudy eyes. I traveled two hours out of my way hoping to bring home some fresh fish, but the store was mostly empty aside from commercial items like frozen crabs that I could buy anywhere else. It felt like a waste of time.

This place has been around for a long time. The staff might not always be the friendliest, but the fish is outstanding. We visit the area every year, and this restaurant is a must for fresh seafood. Prices are reasonable, though the selection can vary depending on the time of year. As of March 2021, they were still operating under reduced hours from 9 AM to 3 PM. During our visit in January 2023, the restaurant was bright and clean, and the staff was much friendlier! The fish we had that day was excellent.
