This gem of a hamburger stand is a slice of Americana. It is run by a bunch of senior citizen veterans who get together weekly in this ten foot wide slicer of a building wedged in downtown Lake Mills. The menu is simple. Hamburgers are $2.50, cheeseburgers $2.75, soda water $1. That 's it. Here 's a bit of history from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The locally famous Legion hamburger, known for its peppery flavor and the grease stain it leaves on the brown paper bag, is a staple of childhood, date nights and family outings. It originally was peddled from a cart in the town square park across Main Street from its current home a 10 by 25 foot walk up stand. I highly recommend.

Friendly atmosphere. The family and i have alot of fun playing bingo here.

American Legion Post 67 makes a fabulous hamburger! The burgers are sold at a great price and the proceeds go to a good cause!Stop in when you see them open!

I've been eating these burgers for nearly 40 years. I look forward to eating them for 40 more.
