Hunt Club Steakhouse - LAKE GENEVA

The food was amazing. We were there during a tornado last night and escorted to the basement during the storm. The staff's performance was flawless. They served us wine in the basement. After the storm passed, we came back upstairs, and food was served to us hot with champagne.

Cocktails were great and both the rib eye and filet were very good. So were the side dishes we ordered. We were not particularly impressed with the dessert selection so didn't order any. The appetizer selection was just o.k. plus offerings seemed to be a bit too expensive. Service, from the moment we walked in until we left, was very good. I think that was one of the things that impressed us. Definitely a recommend.

The NY steak was good. I thought the bread was compliment but it was additional charge. The mashed potatoes would of been good, but it was salty. Alcohol Drink was on point and everything else was good.

When you make a reservation, tell them you want a window seat, or they put you in a windowless overly darkened room. I made a reservation but we opted for the bar instead for some light and a view of the golf course. Overall the place is ok. Order the filet, its the best value $58). The New York Strip around $80) is overpriced, and mine was more of a flatiron type steak. I prefer a thick cut strip. Not at all worth the money. The drinks are good and the views are good. But I think I 'm looking elsewhere next time.

Overpriced compared to Morton's, Mastro's, Capital Grill. Not a good value. Lack of choice of salad dressings for wedge salad (there were basically two: blue cheese and a vinagarette) was surprising. Steaks were o.k. My client ordered his medium rare and it was done medium. Waitstaff was good.
