The Ship Inn - Lake Dallas

Incredibly cute decor and pretty tasty food. It is a wee bit pricey but it is the Ferry and the quality of the food is really good. Good views over the Tay and a great place to come for a meal :

Friendly service, beautiful view. Restaurant upstairs, bar downstairs. A locals place- our bartender knew most everyone by name and most of them knew each other. She also called a taxi for a lady who left her phone at home. We didn't eat anything but they do serve some food downstairs at the bar too. Specials were chicken kebabs and seafood baskets (squid, prawns, cod).

The Ship Inn has a dowstairs pub and upstairs is the restaurant. You can order full meals downstairs, but the upstairs restaurant has a larger menu. It is not touristy and has a good selection of beer.

Very unique place with lots of history. The Cullen Skink is a chowder soup with smoked haddock . What a treat . The creamy base with potatoes and smoked fish. Very unique for Americans . I enjoy going somewhere and eating the local food . Beautiful view of the ocean. And of course the beer . Scotland

The only reason Im not marking this place higher is due to a slight snobbery I encountered one afternoon trying to get a reservation and was faced with quite an unhelpful girl. Basically, we wanted a table, and was told no chance, we're busy (was half empty) so enquired to a table later, we'll hang around it doesnt matter how long, and were still faced with nothing. Could possibly have been booked straight from 12pm to close, but got the impression this wasnt the case. However! When I have managed to get a seat here, I have found service and food to be outstanding! I have had a steak here and I would willingly travel all the way to the Ferry just to sample their steak sauce again, was amazing. I love the fact they give you potatoes and chips to kind of dig into yourself on a wee platter in the middle of the table, its such a nice touch. My partner had the fish and chips and my grandparents had the steak pie and a chicken dish, no complaints from any of these usually fussy people! Do make sure you sit upstairs in the restaurant, the decor is lovely and you get a great view of the Tay and across to Fife. Its the perfect place to take parents/grandparents. Would highly recommend, but probably book in advance just to save disappointment. Believe me, once youre in the mood to go here for tea, being told no is gonna put you on a downer!
