Denny's - Lake Charles

This is always the go-to spot when we're craving T-bone steaks, day or night! They offer a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. The service is consistently excellent. It truly feels like America’s number one diner, no matter where you are—whether in a state or overseas. The breakfast is especially enjoyable, complemented by great service and plenty of smiles. I highly recommend it for anyone with a hungry appetite!

We were seated in about 12 minutes, and after they took our drink order, we waited over 40 minutes for our breakfast. Following that, it took another 15 minutes for some cold, hard sourdough toast, and I had to go and get my mom's white toast myself. There was no apology or discount offered. This visit was on a Saturday morning around 10:30.

I waited about 15 minutes to be seated while the hostess seemed more interested in her phone than in her duties. The man in front of us was given a menu and told to choose his own seat. When it was finally our turn, we were handed a menu and told we could sit anywhere we liked. Another 15 minutes passed, and a couple arrived after us, received proper seating, and had their drink orders taken right away. We still hadn't even had our drink orders taken at that point. Frustrated, we decided to leave and went to Waffle House instead.

I will never, ever, step foot in this place again. I came here for the veterans day special. I got there at 12:40, they said it ended at 12. Fine that 's on me. At 1 pm, I was finishing up my meal and a gentleman walked in who is also a veteran. They told him his meal would be free and they even shouted across the restaurant Let 's do free meals until 3pm . I went to pay and they made me pay for the whole thing, even though I only for the grand slam (which was what they were offering for free today). Maybe it 's because I 'm a woman? I brought 5s and 10s to use as tips, but they only got the bare minimum 10% tip from me today. The service was also slow and the customer service wasn 't great either. I will never, ever, go here again and I 'm spreading the word to my fellow veterans not to go to this location drive to Alexandria instead from Fort Polk.

Food tasted like it was microwaved, it was burnt, tasteless and nasty. Coffee was bland. Looked good but tasted like brown water. Eggs were rubbery. No butter for our toast. Waiter was mediocre at best. Not coming back here.
