Smoo Cave - LAIRG

Did not expect this place to have as much option as it does, and it was amazing quality. Very nice staff and very nice interior. Would 100% come back!

We visited here (twice) in June 2021 after seeing reviews saying vegan options were available. There is a separate vegetarian/vegan menu with 5 vegan options (chilli, lasagne, thai curry, chickpea curry and pizza). We tried everything except for the pizza and enjoyed what we had. It's not fancy food but good satisfying fayre and generous portions. The only dessert option was vegan vanilla ice cream but the waitress recommended a visit to nearby Cocoa Mountain for vegan treats (hot chocolate, chocolate croissants and hand made chocolates). Pleasantly surprised to find a nice after poor offerings in previous visits. Very friendly staff. I had the Thai curry but other options included a chickpea and spinach curry, baked potato with choice of fillings and the pizza had vegan options too.

The smoo cave hotel served a delicious vegan cicherebsen and butternut cries that I enjoyed very much due to the reduced staff!
