Contribuiți la feedbackWe ventured in here during a jaunt around the Lockyer Valley. What a wonderful place. It certainly contains a lot of history about our short past. The place is beautifully kept and is a credit to the people running the place. Lovely to see these places off the beaten track (although it is on the "Cobb & Co Way"
The last time I visited Das Neumann Haus it was closed due to Christmas holidays...which was disappointing as we had travelled from Toowoomba. But I had another recent visit. As others have said before, it's a lovely historical building with lots of interesting pieces to look at while waiting for lunch. Their are a small range of gift items and also handmade items for sale as well. I do believe it is staffed by volunteers, which is lovely. It is a small menu, however enough choices to enjoy a lovely lunch inside, or on the verandahs. Only small, so limited seating.
This quant house is jamb packed with memoribillia and has a little cafe with a very tasty selection of food for any time of the day you find yourself in there for a bow peak. Truely an interesting place to visit on your Laidley area adventure.
This well restored and easy-to-find Museum was originally built by Hermann Neumann a German immigrant in the 19th century. The house gives a picture of what an earlier life may have looked like. Each room features an individual display with collectibles from across the decades adding to the displays. There is an eclectic collection of furniture and bric-a-brac: well worth a visit. Volunteers are friendly and helpful and if you feel like a cuppa and cake, Annie’s Place Coffee Shop is situated within the Museum with tables and chairs both inside and outside, on a shaded grassy area.Tip: The Museum does not have an entry fee however donations are appreciated.
In this small country village you can experience some of the atmosphere of times gone by. This historic house holds a large display of Laidley's history and transports you back to simpler times when agriculture was the centre of the district. The staff are volunteers who are passionate about preserving local history, and they manage a kitchen that provides simple nourishing country style food for a light lunch or morning tea. Sometimes, the simple things in life are able to make time slow down and help one appreciate their surroundings afresh!
