Down The Hatch - Lahaina

Order the lobster grilled cheese—it's incredible! It was so delicious that we returned for another visit before heading home. We were here before the Maui fires, and I look forward to coming back once they rebuild. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

The dishes at this restaurant were incredibly creative, and I really miss it. It's unfortunate that they are currently closed, and I hope they can reopen soon. I wish them the best! The lobster and crab roll was amazing—rich, soft, and creamy, just what I needed after a long hike around the stunning island of Maui. All the fish dishes were fresh and beautifully presented. Although there was a long line, it was definitely worth the wait. It did take a little while to receive our food, but the service was excellent overall. I loved sitting outside by the charming fish ponds.

We absolutely loved Down the Hatch and were truly saddened to learn that they were affected by the fire. We hope they can return even stronger, as we would be thrilled to visit them again someday.

The food here is excellent, especially the three vegetarian options, which are fantastic. Update: I haven't actually visited this restaurant since February 2019, but it holds great memories for me. My thoughts are with the owners and the Maui community.
