Gu Ramen Taps Tapas - Laguna Beach

Excellent Ramen, mine was spicy pork with udon and it was delicious!

I recently had a delightful and delicious lunch in Laguna Beach to celebrate a friend's birthday. I highly recommend the Gu Ramen, which can be customized with your choice of spice level, noodles, and toppings. The combination of Tonkotsu broth, pork, chicken, and Chashu was incredibly satisfying. I also loved the addition of spinach for some extra veggies. My friend opted for the same dish with kale noodles and bean sprouts, which she enjoyed. For his birthday, my friend ordered the Ramen Tofu with Shoyu Umami Broth and double Tofu, which he loved. The spicy and regular edamame make for a perfect appetizer that's great for sharing. The service was friendly and attentive, with the staff remembering regular customers. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, especially with the open windows near the beach. However, be prepared for crowds during the summer months in Laguna, as parking can be difficult and traffic can be frustrating. It's worth allowing for extra time to fully enjoy your dining experience.

I flew all the way from Arizona just to dine here, and it was well worth it! This restaurant serves the best udon I've ever had. Kay, the owner, is incredibly friendly and attentive.

After our day at the beach, we decided to check out a nearby Ramen restaurant. Hi Ramen exceeded our expectations! Despite being busy with only two staff members, we were seated promptly and our food arrived quickly. We ordered four different types of ramen and they were all delicious. I highly recommend trying GU Ramen in Laguna Beach!

We had a great time at dinner. The restaurant is small, so expect a wait. The menu clearly described the various broths. We even had enough to bring some home for lunch tomorrow!
