Asada Tacos Beer - Laguna Beach

We used to enjoy getting takeout from this place, but our last two visits have been disappointing. When we arrived to pick up our order, no one welcomed us, and we waited over 10 minutes just to collect food that was already prepared. Some items that are usually included were missing from our order. Additionally, we noticed that the fried calamari seemed to be frozen and pre-made. We’ll likely return to La Sierra in the future. This restaurant clearly falls short in both hospitality at the ordering window and the taste and quality of its food. We ordered two combination plates, which included one short rib taco and a chile relleno, along with a house margarita and a beer. The total came to $73, not including the 20% tip we left, which felt excessive given the quality of what we received. When we asked for chips and salsa, they informed us that it would cost extra, which was surprising. Our waiter was a pleasant young man, and we appreciated his service. We were also taken aback to discover that Asada is owned by Reunion Kitchen, which makes sense to us since we’re not fans of that place either; both are quite average and overpriced. We don’t mind paying more for a fine dining experience if the food is of good quality and the atmosphere is inviting, but both of these restaurants need significant improvements in all areas.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I had a great experience! Agostino, who manages everything—cashier, bartender, server—was incredibly friendly and hardworking. I ordered the mahi burrito, and it was delicious! I will definitely be returning!

I highly recommend this restaurant! Josh, the attendant, was friendly, professional, and efficient. The pozole and queso fundido were authentic and absolutely delicious. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5!

The menu features some intriguing twists on traditional Mexican cuisine. You can choose between black beans or refried pinto beans. The meats are fresh, well-prepared, and of top-notch quality. There’s a good selection of vegetarian options as well. The chips are freshly made and crispy. I have ordered through GrubHub and also dined in at the restaurant. They have outdoor seating, and it’s dog-friendly too!
