We had a great dinner at Senses. The sequence of “moments” was tasteful and surprising. Paul offered advice on the wine choice. Thanks!
What a fantastic welcome. Met by a very helpful reception team, our room wasn 't quite ready and so we were ushered to a terrace where complimentary welcome drinks were served. We had booked two rooms, both on the entrance level which is one storey above the general accommodation and the main pool. The rooms are very large with a super king size bed and lounge area, mini bar and ample storage in both wardrobe and shelved units. Drawers are also adequate. As it was my wife 's birthday this had been noticed from the passports and a bottle of fizz and a birthday cake awaited us in the room a lovely touch. If there was any down side the room faced away from the pool and sea, however as the resort is so good we didn 't spend any time in the room anyway. The balcony was huge and got the morning sun, we used it to dry the swimming gear.... The pool is freshwater and the only resort pool where when it 's windy it gets waves, a brilliant pool about 50m long and freeform. The depth ranges from 0.8m to 1.5m with gently proportioned steps. There are other pools by the spa and the apartments but we didn 't really use these at all. The pool side restaurant is efficient and serves good 'snack ' food as well as more substantial wares. This is also where breakfast is served...and what a breakfast as many courses as you want and everything to choose from. Cereals, fruits, nuts, hams, cheeses, full cooked with a range of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, crepes, waffles, the list goes on. Toasts, breads, croissants, a range of juices, freshly made coffee, English breakfast tea and the obligatory fizz for those who want it. Even after 14 nights it was still welcome... The bars and staff are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. No staff should be singled out for additional praise as the team ethic is great to see and the way the front of house I seamless is a credit to all. A definite must for visitors is the beach below the hotel. This is simply the best golden sand, rock and stone free expanse of coast with dramatic cliffs. A little difficult to access and certainly not for those with young children, playing in the surf, sunbathing and simply strolling....a joy! Would I recommend this hotel to others? .....no chance why share such a gem....of course I would this is such a relaxing, welcoming place that we will definitely return. There really is nothing we could fault except perhaps the inept performances of England during Euro 2016 but the hotel couldn 't do anything about that other than serve more drinks. Sadly our holiday is ended but the memories we will treasure.
Wow! For sure this is the best resort in Algarve and one of the best in Europe I ever stayed. At the reception we were welcomed by Andreia whom go above and beyond to make sure we have a great time while we there. There pool area is awsome, you can order drinks and snacks while enjoying the sun. We will definitely be back next time we visiting Lagos.
This is best hotel I've stayed in. Other than the pools being a bit chilly (to be expected in September I suppose) everything was perfect and the staff are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return. No getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve a sunbed, which is a welcome change.
