Don Sebastião - Lagos

We had a very good dinner here last night. We had a whole Dorada shared between us which was excellent. The avocado and shrimp starter was also very good as was the fish soup! Excellent friendly service too!

Wow, first real time going to eat Portuguese food, and they did not disappoint. Some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life, the Portuguese Steak was amazing, my biggest of compliments to the chef, and of course the huge banana split for afters was equally impressive. Will without a doubt be going again, keep up the good work, its an amazing place and a must visit

The best restaurant in lagos old town. The food was amazing, and the service was beond. Deserves a star on the restaurant heaven.

SERVICE-ONLY REVIEW We called up to see if a table was available for 5. Manager said yes. He asked how long, we said 10? 15 minutes? He said sure, 15 minutes. He said this casually. No hint that being 8 minutes late would result in not having a table, and having to wait in line for an hour. Worse yet, he didn 't immediately tell us that he wasn 't arranging a table, wasting more time. He asked that we give him space, suggesting he would work something out. After another 5 minutes and no word, we asked again. He restated the earlier: you were too late. And then it required us to explicitly ask whether that meant waiting in the line for a table. He said yes. Very frustrating experience. Food and vibe seemed great. I 'm sure they are. But this unprofessional experience deserves to influence the rating. A simple it must be within exactly 15 minutes would have done the job. Or simply making an accommodation. Service: 1

Great ambiance,and good (not great) food but very bad service. They forgot things we ordered, forgot some utensils and forgot to get a an ice bucket for the white wine. The lobster and clams were good but the bolognese was truly lacking in flavor and the noodles were way over cooked. Overall we expected more from a this place.
