An excellent team both in the kitchen and front of house. Very friendly service and a good sense of humour.
Went after an attempted booking to Yolo in Luz went awry and ended up with booking at Yolo in Fort Lauderdale. Relived to find it was not my fault when eldest daughter told me she did the same in May. Not only did we miss out on nice meal in Yolo but had v average meal at Belavista as only place I could find. we suspected there was a problem when we saw loads of people leaving the Belavista Hotel to walk into Luz so avoiding the food. Service was fine. My meal started with chicken livers. They tasted like chicken livers and were served on a salad that looked tired as only day old salads can. Main course was the well known local dish lamb shank. Why? Cost I have been in Luz for 3 weeks and fancied a scoff. Shank was fine but lack of sauce/gravy spoiled it. Vegetables immediately made me recall those cooked by my mother in law. Squelchy. Mashed potato was OK but could have been sexed up a bit wit the addition of mint (not mint sauce), garlic or something. Red wine (second on list) was v good both taste and value. I am clearly not the only one who thinks it is average. The place was almost empty at 8pm on a Friday night when the 10 places I tried to book after my Yolo disaster were all fully booked.
Nice place to visit, relaxed atmosphere , great prices and nice food, shame it’s not on the seafront as I’m sure it would be busier
Run by the concession that runs the main restaurant in the hotel , a very simple menu slightly boring , average hotel prices , a great place to relax by the side of a large pool. Needs more shading when eating , which I believe the Hotel owners are reluctant to provide , but desperately needed ..do hope they provide the shading in 2018.
