I love Pepe?s, it?s been a favorite of mine for a long time. The salsa is great, the chips are warm, the spicy veggies are amazing, and the meals taste great. I?d be inclined to give them 5 stars but the service has been steadily declining for sometime. I hope they can get it in gear soon so they?re back to 5-star caliber.

I don't often like to leave negative reviews about food, but after dining at this restaurant I feel compelled to share my experience. The food was incredibly disappointing and lacked any flavor. The salsa tasted like watered-down canned tomato juice with large pieces of canned tomatoes, the tamales were subpar, and the steak quesadilla was nothing more than melted cheese with oily scraps of steak. Even the fries were overcooked and tasted like old oil. For the price I paid, I could have gotten a bucket of chicken or Taco Bell. While I understand that some restaurants may be cutting corners due to rising prices, this is not the way to do it. I have had amazing meals at Mexican restaurants in El Paso, but unfortunately I cannot recommend Pepe's.
