Frosmokes Meatery - Lacon

Tried for the first time tonight. Cant say enough good things!!! Everything was delicious I had the smoked chicken with slaw and taters, husband had the brisket and turkey with baked beans and corn bread. Chicken was perfectly smoked and juicy. Brisket had perfect smoke ring and was also juicy and delicious. All the sides were terrific, and corn bread was perfect! Young man that waited on is was super helpful with a great smile and sense of humor? Will definitely be going back soon!

This is a very sad review. My daughter and my husband both had reflux after eating this barbecue. As for me, I thought it was pretty good, nothing to write home about. It's definitely not worth a trip to Lacon. If you happened to be in Lacon, go for it. Maybe you'll have my luck.

Wow. No disrespect to Smoking Pit in Peoria, but FroSmokes has made it to the top of my list for BBQ in Central Illinois. Mouthwatering brisket, perfectly smoked. It was served with a side of sweet BBQ sauce, which was also delicious. The meat can stand on its own, but I do appreciate a good BBQ sauce. For sides, I chose the cheesy potatoes and the broccoli/cauliflower salad. I love a place that has amazing entrees and equally amazing sides. You could make a meal out of the sides...the perfect cheesy flavor, not greasy, served piping hot...the broccoli/cauliflower salad...the perfect healthy side to accompany the meat and potatoes. Just the right amount of sweetness, not too heavy on the dressing. FroSmokes is more than worth the drive from Peoria to Lacon. This will be in my regular restaurant rotation for sure.

We had been trying to get over here for 2 yrs finally made it.We had the beef brisket meal w/ 2 sides it was delicious! Very reasonable prices too.Laid back atmosphere, almost diner style; no need to dress up.Will definitely return soon.Parking: Parking available in the marina area.Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp to entrance.
