Aoki Japanese - La Verne

This is our favorite local sushi spot. The owners are the kindest couple and they have the perfect location in old town La Verne. Every time I've been I've had excellent service and paid less than I was expecting. So glad to have found this gem

Cute little restaurant located in a beautiful area. The business is owned and ran by the cutest couple. The husband makes your sushi rolls himself. The wife is courteous and attentive while taking your order and serving you. Has a great ambiance. They also have a few tables outside so you can see a great view of the people and happenings of the city. Can't wait to go back

Probably the saddest sushi rolls I've seen outside of a gas station. For sure not worth the $20 price tag for a lunch box. Wasabi had no bite and was watery, the ginger had no ginger flavor and the avocado tasted sour for some reason. As if some food additive was in it. The potato salad that came with it was the best part and that was 100% from a box. Never coming back to this spot. This place would make more sense as a drive thru with this level of quality... Update: I got to the salmon roll and threw the box out. It doesn't have a fish flour rather a tart flavor. Tart like lemon or something sour but crisp. I'm short, I just don't trust this place... changed from two stars to zero if I could but one star it is...

Highly disappointed in this place. The food is very bland, at best and not worth the price. We went here because of the reviews and were disappointed. There were no other customers whatsoever at the time, so there isn't really an excuse for the lack of taste.
