Wings Etc. - La Porte

I visited on a Tuesday night, and they have a great deal: a cheeseburger and fries for just $5. It was a pretty good bargain!

The wings here are noticeably smaller than those in South Bend. We visited earlier in the day on the 4th of July, and when we arrived, we were told the place was full, despite several tables being available. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a seat. Once seated and after we got our drinks, we ordered some appetizers for the table. Unfortunately, my loaded tater tots were disappointing. Given how busy and short-staffed they were, I didn’t want to take the time to send them back. While they were crunchy, everything from the tots to the bacon and cheese was barely warm. On a brighter note, my burger and fresh fries for lunch were delicious. However, the dining area was uncomfortably cold—so much so that my sister and I were both shivering while eating. Overall, I rate this location 3 stars due to the cold appetizers, chilly dining environment, and long wait time. It would have been helpful if they had communicated better about the expected wait time and the staffing situation. I might consider coming back, but if I see they’re short-staffed again, I would probably just leave.

I requested that they remake the few hot items I had, along with the missing items. The response I received was a firm "no." I was told I could either eat my remaining food now and then return for the missing items, eat them cold, or take the credit. They said remaking the food would be "above and beyond" what they could do to make things right. I pointed out that when customer service falters, going above and beyond is exactly what you should do. In the end, I decided to take the credit and will take my business elsewhere. I won’t be dining at Wings, etc. again; there are too many better options out there. I won’t miss them at all.

Our server was wonderful! He gave good meal suggestions and was very friendly and very quick. Top notch service!

Great wings and sauce selection awesome shrimp, and the burgers are top notch, super friendly service.
