The View - La Oliva

Arrived late after a long day, the staff very happy to give us a meal We had cream of mushroom soup, calamari , dessert of ice cream for me, husband had soup, spaghetti bolognaise, pear in red wine and cream, all very good

We thought we would try the view again as it was ok well the villa was last year until the power went off on the last day. It was cheap on secret escapes for a week so why not we thought. Arrived there. No booking. Ok prob secret escapes fault but had all the paperwork. She said after nearly half an hour of arriving she would find us a villa. I said we will have a drink in the bar. She said ok but we would have to pay. I said not a chance. Least they could do. Anyway half an hour later found a villa. Went to see it. All good but no water. Turned off at the mains. Ok turned it on we had water. Other residents we spoke to said their electric had gone off thee times in the four days they were there. And water had stopped a couple of times. The view could be excellent if they spent some money on it. Get it sorted. Only one star at moment will update as we get on. Peter Leigh

Had breakfasts each morning and was a nice selection of food. Full breakfast every morning. They had a continental display on food, plus you could order whatever you wanted. We had fruit to start (which didn't always come before your main meal) bacon eggs, sausage mushrooms tomato beans and toast. There was jams and chocolate spreads etc.

Great stay, good accommodation, nice plunge pool, needed as it was up in low 30degrees, restaurant was excellent, the staff at reception and in the restaurant were very very nice, shuttle needed for town centre, but cabs were only 5 euros each way

I wrote a review earlier as I thought satiating six hours after arrival was too long to get our villa this could be sorted by communication with the cleaners. The villa is nice. Airy spacious clean. Pool has been regularly cleaned. No mop no cloth the grill doesn’t work in the oven. Had to ask for cups. Hopefully someone will fix oven. Went to the BBQ at the view restaurant. Food was plonked in front of you with no explanation as to what was in the starter of stuffed peppers and my wife has allergic reactions to certain fish. Ask the non English speaking waiter who had to call another waiter who then had to go to kitchen to find the answer. Ok we got an answer. Then the meat was put on the table. The chicken was not cooked the cutlets were so fatty there was only one mouthful of meat on them. The steak was fine and sausage was good. No one came to ask if all was ok. The sweet was a tiny piece of chocolate cake. This is publicised as a gourmet restaurant. When I told the manager basically shrugged his shoulders. Ok we had a voucher but others were paying €50 a couple. With our drinks that would have been a €70 euro meal. I haven’t yet paid that in the restaurants in Corroleco and not left hungry like I was tonight. We are very easy going people but I wouldn’t have given more than €30 for that tonight. 3/10 because the villa is nice but needs better equipped. Others we have spoke to don’t even have a kettle. Guess what you can hire them in reception. We have one. P L
