Nonno's Italiano - La Mesa

I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and stuffed mushrooms, and they were absolutely delicious! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before, considering how many times I've enjoyed their food. The Pesto Pizza is outstanding, and the Nonno's special sandwich is incredibly tasty. It's a small establishment, but they operate with a big heart. Lisa, the server, is an absolute gem! I highly recommend giving it a try.

A hidden jewel in La Mesa. A real culinary experience that feels like you're with the family. Don't hurry. Not loud. And really enjoyable! You can play Frank Sinatra and enjoy some of their great wines and homemade Italian dishes. The Alfredo is the BEST and the specials are unique and to order. Fresh and delicious! Be friendly and patient when you come here, because this is the mood. I'm so glad I found this place!

I visited Nonno's with my family and had a lovely experience. The Steak Sinatra and bruschetta were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the Dean Martin drink (see picture below). However, we cannot recommend the chicken piccata.

The service was outstanding, and the food was phenomenal! I will certainly make it a priority to visit again the next time I'm in the LA Mesa area!

Great find. Small, long standing, unassuming, family owned Italian restaurant. Great service, excellent food, all freshly made in house. The place is small though with very few tables, so best to call ahead and reserve a table. By the way...I'm born and raised in Brooklyn. This is good Italian food!!!
