Anthony's Fish Grotto La Mesa

La Mesa Restaurant. I've been coming here for years and I'm a huge fan of the white clam chowder, though my mother has always favored the red . They have a beautiful outside dining area that borders the lake; the perfect spot to dine during the pandemic. They have a big lunch special selection, which we enjoyed along with one of their white wine flights. Very nice wine and beer menu. Their red butter is absolutely scrumptious . There is limited parking by their front door, but plenty of parking on the upper level. Look for the convenient purse carabineers under the outside tables (great touch). Big, clean restrooms. Very good service. Will continue to come back!

It’s not fast food... it’s dining!! What a great way to spend with a friend or special person. The atmosphere that is created, takes you completely away from the I-8 freeway and the fact that you are in la Mesa. It has a resort feel to it. The food is always exceptional and the service is attentive and personal. This place is absolutely worth any wait either indoor or at any of the outdoor tables. Don’t wait, have a wonderful experience and you know that you will be coming back

One of my all time favorite places... I've always had a great dining experience here. The food is fresh, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is perfect! I first came here in 1991 and was here November, 2020. Same great experience...

I love this place. They have a spacious outdoor patio that is perfect for dogs. The interior is also charming and worth exploring. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. In addition to seafood, they also offer other meat options for those who aren't fans of seafood. Their brunch menu is tasty as well. What's more, they can accommodate large groups of 20 or more, which is a nice bonus.

Thanks to emperor Newsom's purple tear alert people are being forced to eat outside on less your at his party. They do have very nice out door accommodations over looking a lake with a lit up fountain in the middle surrounded by water falls from the roof edges. The staff is very attentive and accommodating to their guests and the food and drinks are delicious. The prices are competitive. Have a good time. Don't drink and drive.
