On cycling trip, and stuck for a late lunch. Enjoyed friendly welcome and simple omelette well cooked. Liked presence of proper locals. Called back in evening for single course. Recognised from lunch, welcome friendly, steak perfect.

Every Tuesday being market day in La Guerche de Bretagne ensures that the restaurants in this small town are always busy, so our party of three adults considered themselves rather fortunate when able to secure a table without making an advance reservation. Despite the number of diners the service was efficient and waiting kept to the minimum. Individual dishes ordered included starters of moules mariniere, plat du jour salad bar thence omelette du jambon and grilled steaks followed by desserts of crepe chocolat and creme caramel. My family thought their selections fulfilled their expectations but I was not much impressed with some of the items on the salad bar. The omelette was dry/overcooked and the ham filling quite tasteless, although the accompanying fries were very good. A peripheral view bordering on average to good but on balance I have judged the experience towards the former. Nothing else can be said, other than perhaps I chose the wrong dishes on that particular day!
