Milkstop Cafe - La Grange

The low score is for service, not quality of food. We were immediately sat by the hostess, but no server came to our table. There were two hungry children under ten in our group. After over fifteen minutes, I went back to hostess and let her know no one had come by even for water. I then watched like an eagle as she went to a server as we were hungry. Unsure of what interaction took place, but that server must have said not his problem. She then had to find another server who said “I’ll be taking over as your server” when he came. There was no “taking over”, this was our first interaction. Person I was with had mentioned the other times she came service was also slow. Food was fine but 15 minute wait with no one noticing when you have children waiting is not a fun experience. Will not be trying this place again.

Fun place to stop, my wife and I stopped for breakfast on a Sunday. Both our breakfast dishes were excellent. The service was good, and so was the coffee. It's a bit hard to find, but a good landmark is the BNSF Stone Avenue station is right across the street. Parking is available, and also outside seating.

How can a restaurant be quaint but also have a city feel? I don’t know but they nailed it. Great service, amazing Flat Burger, will stuff my face there again for sure.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available.

I'm all for an expensive good meal, but the trout was flavorless and the lamb shank had an earthy old taste. The server never checked on us and although he noticed we barely touched our food and didn't want to go containers didn't even asked if there was a problem. The only reason they get 2 stars was because of the crabcake app wich was decent..seriously disappointed.

We stopped here early afternoon on a Wednesday to check this place out.Pros: Got seated within minutes, our server was friendly, food was great, nice ambiance.Cons: on the pricey side for food and beer, we got our app pretty fast and the entrees seemed to have dragged (we got 2 salads) and it wasn’t busy.Overall we would return. I’d definitely like to try their brunch!Parking: Free street parking available
